View the splendours of centuries old
Rome, relive the ancient catastrophe of Pompeii, and
enjoy the sunshine whilst exploring the coastal town of Sorrento. We
take you to the mythical island of Capri and there's even time to sample
a real Italian pizza in its traditional home of Naples.
Day 1, 2 Rome
Beautiful, chaotic, historical Rome. They say a lifetime is not enough
to take it all in but in a day we soak up as much as we can! A walking
trip introduces us to some of the main highlights, such as the Colosseum,
Forum and the Trevi Fountain, and a couple of the lesser known treats,
like the Pont St Angelo.
Day 3-5 Pompeii
From our central accommodation in Pompeii we visit the ancient Roman
city, still preserved as it was in 79 A.D. when an eruption of Mt Vesuvius
buried it in ash. We don't just view Mt Vesuvius from a distance - we
climb it! We also have the option of a visit to the port of Naples,
the home of pizza.
Day 6-9 Amalfi Coast
We say 'buongiorno' to the magnificent Amalfi Coast, in the wonderful
post-medieval and ritzy Victorian coastal town of Sorrento. Imagine
three lazy days in this gentle paradise, including a full day on the
magical island of Capri. It's a relaxing end to an amazing 9 days!
