Difficulty Level
The best of what Peru has to offer packed into 12 days. Ideal if you want
to experience Peru but have limited time. The Inca Trail is a moderate
4 day hike at high altitude.
Accommodation
6 nights simple hotels/guest houses, 3 nights camping, 2 nights jungle
lodge.
Transportation
Public bus, local flight, train, boat, canoe, hiking.
Food Included
All meals while in the jungle and on the Inca Trail.
Local guide
from Cuzco onwards, local representative in Lima.

Notes
(1)Last minute bookings of this trip and all trips that include the Inca
Trail will be on an "on request" basis only. To make a booking
request of a tour which includes the Inca Trail we require your full name,
date of birth, nationality and passport number.
(2)Please advise at time of booking if you do not wish to hike the Inca
Trail. Instead you will have 2 nights in Cuzco, travel by train for a
night in Aguas Calientes, and join the hikers for the tour of Machu Picchu.

The Inca Trail and the Amazon -
this is a compact 12 day trip that combines the two main regions of
Peru and provides an in-depth taste of what this stunning country has
to offer. Trek through the Andes along ancient pathways to Machu Picchu,
explore the Amazon rainforest from a lodge deep in the Peruvian jungle
and experience what was the heart and soul of the Inca Empire, Cuzco.
Day 1 Arrive Lima
Day 2 Cuzco
Early morning transfer to the airport for flight to Cuzco. In Cuzco
you will be met by your guide and transferred to the hotel. Relax or
explore the spiritual sites of Sacsayhuaman and Tambo Machay.
Day 3 Sacred Valley / Ollantaytambo
Travel with our local guide through the Sacred Valley, including the
picturesque town and Inca ruins of Ollantaytambo.
Day 4-7 Inca Trail (3B, 3L, 3D)
A morning trip to km 82 begins a once in a lifetime journey on the ancient
trail of the Incas. Local porters and guides ensure that the trip is
worry-free. Fascinating ruins and spectacular mountain scenery fill
every day of the hike. On the final day, climb the steps to Intipunku,
the 'Sun Gate', to watch the sunrise over Machu Picchu before our tour
of the famous Inca ruin. We return to Cuzco for the night.
Day 8 Cuzco
With a friendly, colonial atmosphere, Cuzco offers nearby Inca ruins,
cobblestone streets, museums, markets and churches. Rafting, horseback
riding and mountain biking are also possible.
Day 9, 10 Amazon Jungle (2B,2L,2D)
Fly from high in the Andes to Puerto Maldonado, deep in the lowlands
of the Amazon jungle. Then travel by motorized canoe to our lodge in
the Tambopata Rainforest Area, which holds the world record for the
most bird sightings in one area. Explore the jungle with expert local
guides.
Day 11 Lima
Fly to Lima via Cuzco for a final night on the town.
Day 12 Depart Lima
