Notes
During the winter months in China (Dec-Mar) the itinerary will alter and
we will visit the ancient walled city of Pingyao on days 8 and 9 instead
of the Yangzi River due to unfavourable weather and river conditions at

Shanghai, Nanjing, Yangzi River, Three Gorges, Xi'an,

has to offer. Vibrant sophisticated cities, masses of history, ancient
treasures, the controversial Yangzi dam project, a culture that will keep

Day 1, 2 Shanghai
With fantastic shopping, a world class museum and the famous Bund, Shanghai
is a city with life.
Day 3-5 Nanjing
The city's crumbling wall, palace ruins and the historic drum and bell
pavilions are reminders of the glorious Ming Dynasty, while the Memorial
Hall of the Nanjing Massacre is a reminder of a more recent macabre past.
Day 6, 7 Xi'an
The ancient capital, once a starting point for the famed Silk Road, Xi'an
is also home to one of the greatest archeological discoveries of our time
- the ancient Terracotta Warriors which defend the emperor's tomb.
Day 8-10 Yangzi River
Take this opportunity to experience the evolving mystical scenery of the
Yangzi River. Get a glimpse of a true working river that is the lifeblood
for millions of people and witness the controversial and massive Three
Gorges Dam.
Day 11-14 Beijing
Enter a bygone era visiting the spectacular Forbidden City. Stroll through
the bustling Tiananmen Square, walk along the massive Great Wall and feast
on succulent roast duck in majestic Beijing.
