Tour Itinerary

Safari through the wilderness of Botswana.
Experience the vast Magadikgadi pans, the Okavango Delta and the abundant
wildlife of Moremi game reserve and Savuti in the Chobe National Park.
Explore Chobe NP by boat and enjoy stunning views of Victoria Falls. Adventure
activities available include: rafting the mighty Zambezi, bungee jumping,
skydiving, horse riding and game walks! The tour includes an excursion
into the Okavango Delta with local guides in mokoro (dugouts). This is
an escape into untouched African wilderness. Our trips have the best wildlife
viewing opportunities by visiting the game reserves and national parks
in open 4WD game drive vehicles.
Day 1 Livingstone to Nata (L)
After an early morning tour briefing, we leave Livingstone and cross the
Kasungula ferry into Botswana and head south to Nata, where we will camp
overnight.
Day 2 Makgadikgadi Pans (B,L,D)
The shimmering saltpans of Makgadikgadi are the size of Switzerland and
most of the time, appear as white, endless plains. We head out on the
pans for a night of wild camping in this expansive wilderness, and catch
a magnificent sunset.
Day 3 Nxai Pan (B,L,D)
We enter the Nxai Pan National Park and visit the ancient Baines Baobabs
before making camp near the Nxai Pans. We take an afternoon game drive
around the waterhole to see the springbok, gemsbok and hopefully lions!
Day 4 Maun (B,L)
We head to Maun, the bustling frontier town where we prepare for the Moremi
and Chobe leg of our tour. After setting up camp, we have a relaxing afternoon
and, time permitting, take an optional game viewing flight over the Okavango
Delta.
Day 5, 6 Moremi (B,L,D)
Local guides will take us into the Okavango Delta by mokoros (dugout canoes).
This excursion is subject to water levels in the Delta. If mokoros are
not available, then we will substitute this activity with game drives.
Moremi Game Reserve rates as one of the leading wildlife areas in the
world. On Day 6 we take our open 4WD vehicle into Moremi for some unforgettable
game viewing. Grasslands, floodplains, forests, lily lagoons and winding
water channels combine to form a variety of game viewing habitats. We
spend our days on game drives watching the plentiful wildlife which includes
elephant, hippo, buffalo and lion.
Day 7, 8 Savuti (B,L,D)
Moving north over the sand ridge and into the Mababe depression, we arrive
at the Savuti Marsh. This open grassland area attracts herds of zebra
and wildebeest, which in turn draw the large lion prides that Savuti is
famous for. The waterhole near camp is also a favourite drinking point
of the local elephant population, and well known for its spectacular sunsets.
Day 9, 10 Chobe National Park (B,L,D)
The Chobe River flows lazily along the northern boundary of the Chobe
National Park, attracting some of the largest herds of elephant in Africa.
We have a night in the reserve with game drives and then the following
day we take a late afternoon game viewing sundowner cruise. This is a
highlight for most travellers as we see the mighty elephant return to
the Chobe River to quench their thirst.
Day 11, 12 Victoria Falls / Livingstone
(2B)
We camp for two nights in Zambia near Livingstone on the banks of the
Zambezi River. Enjoy a spectacular walk through tropical vegetation to
the very edge of the "Mosi oa Tunya" or "the smoke that
thunders" - Victoria Falls. Optional opportunities to whitewater
raft on the mighty Zambezi River, bungee jump, or take a flight of angels
over the falls are available.
Day 13 Livingstone (B)
Our African adventure ends at 8am after breakfast.
