Tour Itinerary

Oh Canada! A magnificent land filled with soaring
mountain peaks, pristine glaciers, abundant wildlife, and endless
evergreen forests surrounding beautiful blue-green lakes. Come walk with
us, for the wonders of this incomparable land are only a few steps away.
This walking tour features some of the most pristine and majestic scenery
the Rockies have to offer. Paul Lake Provincial Park, en route to Jasper
National Park, offers the first of many trails set against the backdrop
of soaring peaks and emerald glacial lakes. Multiple-day stops in three
of the West’s most well-known national parks, Jasper, Banff and
Yoho, offer each passenger ample time to walk and explore several trails
in each location, as well as the opportunity to partake in a variety of
other activities including mountain biking, canoeing, guided glacier hike,
hot springs, and white water rafting. Excellent opportunities for wildlife
viewing with stops in Vancouver and Seattle, allow travelers to these
wonderful Pacific Northwest cities to see the sites, do some shopping,
and enjoy the nightlife.
Day 1 Seattle/Paul Lake
Provincial Park
Departing Seattle early in the morning, we cross the border and drive
to Paul Lake PP. In the afternoon we have time for some short hikes in
the park.
Day 2-4 Jasper NP
We travel on to Jasper National park and spend two days hiking Maligne
Canyon, Mount Baldy, Opal Mountain, and Five Lakes; areas that define
the utter serenity of Jasper NP. Conditions permitting, hike the trails
at the base of Mt. Edith Cavell, all the while listening for the thunderous
echoes of huge, blue chunks of ice falling from hanging glaciers or take
a non-walking day to mountain bike, canoe or just ride the gondola to
the top of Whistler Mountain.
Day 5-7 Banff NP
We leave Jasper for Banff, via one of the world's most beautiful drives,
the Icefields Parkway. We have three days to explore the incredible diversity
of this splendid national park. Consider hiking to the teahouse overlooking
incomparable Lake Louise from either Plain of Six Glaciers or Lake Agnes,
or for the energetic, just do both! Hike through Sentinel Pass to the
startling views of Lake Moraine or take the easier route and just stroll
the shoreline. Revive those muscles with a soak in Banff’s naturally
heated hot pools, rent a canoe, get back on the trail, check out the wildlife
or just enjoy the spectacles of this wondrous park.
Day 8, 9 Yoho NP
While in Yoho, the choice is yours. Try rafting down the Kicking Horse
River, hiking the famous Iceline Trail, or relax under the highest waterfall
in Canada!
Day 10 BC Provincial Park
Time for one last scenic hike in another of BC's provincial parks.
Day 11 Vancouver
Spend the day exploring Vancouver, one of the world's most beautiful cities.
Stroll along the beach at sunset, enjoy dinner in Chinatown, and experience
the vibrant nightlife of Gastown.
Day 12 Depart Seattle
Back in the USA, we return to Seattle in the evening, where our adventure
comes to an end.
Difficulty Level
A moderately-paced walking tour with the services of two guides in the
National Parks to maximize hiking options. Tour is appropriate for walkers/hikers
of all abilities and fitness levels.
