An 8-day biking adventure along Spain's Bici Carril - a former railway line that has been transformed into a bicycle route, leading all the way to the Mediterranean Sea! The Bici Carril is a gently graded and easy to follow trail taking us through varied rural scenery, dotted with small Catalonian villages and sunflower fields. Starting in the cultural and architectural wonder of Barcelona and finishing up on the sunny Spanish coast, this biking adventure is a unique way to experience Spain's beautiful Catalonia region.

Day 1 Arrive Barcelona
Arrive in Barcelona at any time. Check into the hotel and spend the day exploring one of the world's most fascinating cities.

Day 2, 3 Olot
We begin our journey with a morning train to the medieval town of Ripoll where our bicycles await. We cycle along the Bici Carril through the lovely village of Saints Jean de Abbesses on our way to the historic town of Olot. The following day in Olot is free to choose from many of the optional activities in the area, such as walking or biking in the nearby Garrotxa Natural Park amidst the park’s many volcanoes.

Day 4, 5 Gerona
Continuing along the Bici Carril, we bike 55km downhill to the medieval town of Gerona. The following day is free to explore the fascinating town of Gerona, ride to Rupit, one of the most picturesque villages in Catalonia, or head out to Baynoles, home of the summer Olympic village.

Day 6, 7 St Feliu de Guíxoles / Barcelona
Today we bike the last 40km towards our final destination, St Feliu de Guixoles on the Mediterranean coast. Upon arrival, spend the remainder of the day with a swim in the Med or exploring Spanish coastline. The following morning is spent at leisure, before departing for Barcelona by bus in the evening. Optional activities include hiking, biking and diving or just relaxing on the beach.
