Inca Trail Advisory
Important information regarding new regulations and booking procedures
for the Inca Trail to Machu Piccu.
Difficulty Level
An active, compact tour highlighting Peruvian history, culture and scenic
landscapes. The Inca Trail is a moderate 4-day hike at high altitude.
Accommodation
7 nights simple hotels/guest houses, 3 nights camping, 1 night homestay.
Transportation
Public buses, local flight, train, boat, and hiking.
Food Included
All meals on the Inca Trail and during the homestay.
Tour guide throughout.
Local guides while on Lake Titicaca, in the Sacred Valley, and on the
Inca Trail.
Budget
Allow USD $15 per day for food - for additional expenses, see dossier.

Notes
(1) Last minute bookings of this trip and all trips that include the Inca
Trail will be on an "on request" basis only. To make a booking
request of a tour which includes the Inca Trail we require your full name,
date of birth, nationality and passport number.
(2) Please advise at time of booking if you do not wish
to hike the Inca Trail. Instead you will have 2 nights in Cuzco, travel
by train for a night in Aguas Calientes, and join the hikers for the tour
of Machu Picchu.
(3) A return Cuzco-Lima flight on Day 14 or later can be arranged, if
requested at time of booking.

A shorter version of our classic Peru
Panorama, this 12 day tour includes many of the things that Peru
is best known for. Trek through the Andes along ancient pathways to the
awe-inspiring ruins of Machu Picchu. Experience Cuzco's colourful markets
and Andean culture, and relax on the pristine waters of Lake Titicaca
while gaining insight into rural Quechua culture.
Day 1 Arrive Lima
Day 2-4 Puno / Lake Titicaca (L, D, B)
Today we travel to the town of Puno on the shores of Lake Titicaca. We
take a boat trip to visit the Uros and Taquile islands, then are immersed
into Peruvian rural life with a homestay in a small village before returning
to Puno on day 4.
Day 5 Cuzco
Enjoy spectacular views of the countryside on this full day of travel
from Puno to Cuzco, through the high Altiplano region.
Day 6 Ollantaytambo
Travel with our local guide through the Sacred Valley and visit the picturesque
town and Inca ruins of Ollantaytambo.
Day 7-10 Inca Trail (3B, 3L, 3D)
A morning trip to km 82 begins a once in a lifetime journey on the ancient
trail of the Incas. Local porters and guides ensure that the trip is worry-free.
Fascinating ruins and spectacular mountain scenery fill every day of the
hike. On the final day, climb the steps to Intipunku, the 'Sun Gate',
to watch the sunrise over Machu Picchu. Return to Cuzco by train in the
afternoon.
Day 11 Cuzco
Cuzco has a friendly, colonial atmosphere. The town offers nearby Inca
ruins, cobblestone streets, museums, markets and churches. Also enjoy
rafting, horseback riding and mountain biking activites.
Day 12 Depart Cuzco
Note: Return flight to Lima can be arranged if requested.
