History, Culture, Art, Food and Scenery along the
Costa Brava. The rugged Costa Brava ranks among Spain’s most
beautiful coastlines. Accompanying the fantastic scenery is a rich artistic
and cultural history. The Costa Brava is the birthplace of the eccentric
and surreal artist Salvador Dali, who received much of his inspiration
from the wonderful landscapes of the region. We’ll have the chance
to visit many of the sites and museums associated with this visionary
artist. Finding yourself immersed in the regions history is inevitable,
with visits to the ruins of Empúries, and the medieval towns and
villages of Gerona, Sta Pau and Castelfollit. We’ll also take time
to enjoy the Catalonian culture’s fantastic cuisine. A wonderful
mix of styles and flavours, the local dishes are some of Spain’s
most well known and include mouth-watering sauces, local specialties and
an abundance of seafood…And let’s not forget Barcelona! A
trip to the Costa Brava is truly a feast for the senses.
