Many would agree that Provence is the most irresistible region of France.

Over the centuries, historians have been beckoned by the medieval villages perched on hilltops, artists by the famous magical light, epicureans by the range of sumptuous food and wines and outdoor lovers by the array of natural treasures. Enjoy all of these and more, as we experience the paradise that is Provence.

Day 1 Arrive Avignon
Our home for the week is Avignon, a city of art and culture and an ideal base for exploring the wider Provencal region.

Day 2 Cycle to Chateauneuf du Pape / Wine Tasting
An enjoyable day cycling through stunning scenery via the historical Pont St Benezet. We cycle to Chateauneuf du Pape, home to some of the most sought after red wines in all of France. Sample some of the local wine, but not too much, as we cycle back to Avignon later in the day.

Day 3 Provencal Village Sightseeing / Wine Tasting
We travel by bus through the Luberon, combining unpopulated areas with picturesque villages such as Les Baux-de-Provence. The scenery is fantastic as this area is largely part of a national park.

Day 4 Papal Palace Visit
We tour Avignon on foot. The striking Palace of the Popes has been dubbed 'the biggest and most beautiful house in the world'.

Day 5 Canoeing to Pont du Gard
A leisurely canoe trip is the perfect way to reach the 2,000 year old Pont du Gard on the Gardon River - the highest bridge ever built by the Romans and testimony to the greatness of their empire.

Day 6 Free Day in Avignon
Avignon is crammed with treasures which can be explored independently, such as outdoor cafes and plenty of shops for picking up last-minute souvenirs.
