Paris, Reims Cathedral, Veuve Clicquot tour, Vieux
Lyon, food and flower markets of Provence, cooking classes, antique shopping.
France is a food and wine lover's heaven - come and see why!
Journey with us on a delicious exploration of some of the most highly
regarded and unique restaurants and wineries in France. Toss in a fascinating
gourmet cooking class, food markets overflowing with fresh produce, chateaux
visits, antique shopping and beautiful countryside vistas for a mouth
watering mix that will satisfy your travel hunger.
Day 1, 2 Paris
We start in magical Paris, the city of lights and lovers. Spend an afternoon
mastering the art of French cuisine before indulging in our first 'plat
du jour' from a local chocolaterie. There is also time to visit the Louvre
and climb the Eiffel Tower.
Day 3 Reims
Enjoy the fruits of someone else's labours today as we sample the fabulous
locally produced champagne. Wander around and explore the area that has
produced sparkling wine since the days of Dom Perignon.
Day 4 Dijon
Cycle through the vineyards, visit the many cellars of the Côte
d'Or or blend your own batch of mustard as we explore the surroundings
of Dijon in Burgundy.
Day 5, 6 Lyon
Wander through Old Lyon, explore the myriad of underground passages that
snake their way up Fourviere Hill and all over the city and shop in the
antiques district before tucking into Lyonnaise cuisine and enjoying a
few 'pots' of the local red.
Day 7-9 Arles
We find our own fresh ingredients at a local market and learn the secrets
of Provencal cooking from an expert. Our time in Arles is full of warmth,
where we not only cook with our hosts but are welcomed into their home
as well.
