Inca Trail Advisory
Important information regarding new regulations and booking procedures
for the Inca Trail to Machu Piccu.
Difficulty Level
The Inca Trail is a moderate 4 day hike at high altitude. A good mix of
culture, history and scenic beauty.
Accommodation
4 nights hotels, 3 nights camping.
Transportation
Local flight, train, van, hiking.
Food Included
All meals while on the Inca Trail.
Local guide
from Cuzco onwards, local representative in Lima
Budget
Allow USD $15 per day for food - for additional expenses, see dossier.
Notes
(1) Last minute bookings of this trip and all trips that include the Inca
Trail will be on an "on request" basis only. To make a booking
request of a tour which includes the Inca Trail we require your full name,
date of birth, nationality and passport number.
(2) Please advise at time of booking if you do not wish to hike the Inca
Trail. Instead you will have 2 nights in Cuzco, travel by train for a
night in Aguas Calientes, and join the hikers for the tour of Machu Picchu.
(3) A return Cuzco-Lima flight can be arranged, if requested at time of
booking. If returning on Day 8, please request our 9 day "Inca Discovery
Plus" (PIM) tour.

Spend a week retracing the steps of the Inca, one of the most fascinating
civilizations in the Americas. Travel from Lima into the heart of the
Andes and the charming colonial town of Cuzco. You will have the opportunity
to explore Cuzco and its nearby ruins on your own or with a guide, then
join one of our expert local guides and porters to hike the Inca Trail
to Machu Picchu.
Day 1 Arrive Lima
Day 2 Cuzco
Early morning transfer to the airport for flight to Cuzco (as early as
4am). In Cuzco you will be met by your guide and transferred to the hotel.
Relax or explore the spiritual sites of Sacsayhuaman and Tambo Machay.
Day 3 Sacred Valley / Ollantaytambo
Travel with our local guide through the Sacred Valley, including the picturesque
town and Inca ruins of Ollantaytambo.
Day 4-7 Inca Trail to Machu
Picchu (3B,3L,3D)
A morning trip to km 82 begins a once in a lifetime journey on the ancient
trail of the Incas. Local porters and guides ensure that the trip is worry-free.
Fascinating ruins and spectacular mountain scenery fill every day of the
hike. On the final day, climb the steps to Intipunku, the 'Sun Gate',
to watch the sunrise over Machu Picchu before our tour of the famous Inca
ruin. We return to Cuzco for the night.
Day 8 Depart Cuzco
