Starting in Rome, ending in Florence and
including so much in between - let us show you the best of northern Italy.
Savour the contrast of flavours as we experience the rich gastronomic
heritage of northern Italy from gourmet cuisine to delicious traditional
fare. Explore vineyards, olive groves, colourful markets, beautiful cities
and historic villages with plenty of time to linger in classic restaurants,
sampling fine wines and great food.
Day 1, 2 Rome
We visit the quiet lanes of Trastevere for our first culinary delight,
and then hit the lively streets of Rome in our pursuit of the best gelati
amongst other fine desserts.
Day 3, 4 Levanto
In Piedmont we not only try highly prized truffles, we
also observe how they are prepared. Guests of both a restaurant and a
winery, we sample the fruits of the vine and the cellar.
Day 5, 6 Priocca
Not only one of the more beautiful scenic areas of Italy,
but also a place we can start getting our hands into the mix. We make
our own pesto and try the local specialities of seafood and foccacia.
Day 7, 8 Lucca
Wine and olive oil are the two specialties of the region, and we learn
about and taste both. We also get out and about on bicycles to explore
the fabulous town of Lucca and its surrounding countryside.
Day 9, 10 Florence
Whether we finish off our trip with a meal of minestrone alla fiorentina
or bistecca alla fiorentina, or even just cannellini beans and soup, we
still get a unique taste of Italy here in lovely Florence.
