Sydney, Hawkesbury River, Coastal New South Wales,
Hunter Valley wineries, sheep station farmstay, heritage-listed
national parks, northern NSW hinterland, Byron Bay, Brisbane.
Year round, travellers will love this trip for its mix of iconic sights
and off the beaten path gems. Join us and enjoy the postal ferry on the
stunning Hawkesbury River, wine touring and tasting by mountain bike,
a 'true-blue' Aussie sheep station experience and relaxing in the alternative
life-style towns of Bellingen and Byron Bay. A trip to remember!
Days 1-2 Sydney
Arriving into Australia's best known international gateway, you will find
a vivacious metropolis that has truly come of age - art, culture and history
abound as well as iconic sights, world-class beaches and so much more.
Days 3-4 Hunter Valley
Travel north over the landmark Sydney Harbour Bridge and on to the picturesque
estuary of the Hawkesbury River to board the River Postman. Then head
east to the Hunter Valley wineries. Mountain bikes are a great way to
explore the valley and cellar door tastings are the best way to sample
its produce.
Day 5 Myall Lakes
Travel to the East Coast where sand dunes, beaches, lakes and forest meet.
Days 6-7 New England Farmstay
Experience the true atmosphere of rural Australia at our rustic farm homestay.
Join in farm work, learn to shear a sheep and bunk down as the station
hands do. Be prepared to get dirty!
Day 8 Northern NSW Hinterland
The scenic Waterfall Way leads us through several World Heritage-listed
National Parks. Spectacular gorges, massive exposed boulders, rainforest
'skywalks' and of course tumbling waterfalls, provide a full day of wonderful
experiences.
Days 9-10 Byron Bay
Byron Bay is mainland Australia's most easterly point and one of the country's
most popular beach escapes. Visit a local art gallery, hit the beach,
explore the area by bike or just kick back in a cafe and soak up the atmosphere
of this lively town.
Days 11-12 Brisbane
Crossing into Queensland we travel to beautiful Brisbane, the 'River City'.
There is time to enjoy the cafe culture and some final sightseeing before
fond farewells mark the end of a fantastic trip.
