Difficulty Level

This trip is for those with an interest in the unique cuisine, culture and history of Thailand, whilst travelling in more comfort and style than the usual G.A.P trip. We use comfortable accommodation for this trip and avoid unnecessarily long travel days. You are required to carry your pack on and off trains and buses, up hotel steps, etc. Your itinerary may include easy paced walks or bike rides, but these are on mainly flat ground.

Day 1 Bangkok
Fast-paced Bangkok boasts stylish dining or simple street stalls, all offering plenty of tantalising specialities. Explore Chinatown or Little India or wander down Khao San Road.

Day 2 Thai House
Experience a gastronomical delight at the beautiful teak Thai House. Learn the secrets of the spices that make Thai cuisine so memorable.

Day 3, 4 Kanchanaburi
Expand your culinary skills further at the cooking school in Kanchanaburi and take time to explore the infamous Death Railway and the Bridge over the River Kwai.

Day 5 Ayuthaya
Once a Khmer outpost, then the Siamese royal capital, Ayuthaya's ruins are testament to its past glory.

Day 6-8 Chiang Mai
After a lesson at the world famous Chiang Mai Cooking School, there's time to visit the temples, craft workshops and night market of this popular destination.

Day 9, 10 Bangkok
Venture onto the 'khlongs', the canal back streets of Bangkok, to 16th Century Wat Pho, with its imposing reclining Buddha. Bangkok just cries out for exploration.
